Small Scrap Quilt Finish

I've finished machine quilting and binding this small scrap quilt.  I'm on a roll.  I have one more to small quilt to bind,  and then I will pick something else from my UFO pile to quilt.

The quilt above is made from the leftover blocks from the Little Bits quilt from the book Friendship Strips & Scraps by Edyta Sitar.

Here is the full sized quilt.  It is still in the UFO pile to be quilted.

I'm kind of at the point where I've decided that these quilt tops and bags of blocks aren't doing anyone any good in stacks or baggies.  We put a lot of work into the selection of fabric, careful cutting and piecing, not to mention the cost of the materials.  In a lot of cases I've done several hours of hand work on some of these quilts.  So I'm beginning to put some of these blocks together and do some quilting on others so that they can be enjoyed.  At least that's the plan for now.

I hope you are finding some time to do some stitching today!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

  2. Good for you for tackling the UFOs! I just finished one this week that was over 10 years old and it felt good. I am going out into my garage and my plastic bins today to locate some more to donate to a charity quilt drive. They should not be stuffed in tubs in my garage when they can be on a nursing home patient's lap instead. :0)

  3. I'm so proud of you! I've started a mission to do the same. I have so many things that I've started and not finished. I have a quilt on my frame at the moment that I started last fall. I'm enjoying working on it and don't understand why it took me so long to get back to finishing it. Have a great day. Oh, I'm having a Give-A-Way please come over and put your name in the hat:)

  6. Both of these are wonderful! I love your color combinations. It's so warm and cheerful. And you're right about the ufo's. I'm guilty too thought I'm afraid. Sigh.

  8. My project goal for 2016 is to do what you are doing LuAnn. I do agree we pay so much for our hobby that we should use up all our scraps and finish all of our UFO's. I like the quilt very much!
