Jennifer Chiaverini's New Book

Jennifer Chiaverini's new book, The Wedding Quilt will be out in book stores tomorrow.  I'm not sure where this postcard came from, but I received it in the mail a few days ago.  It reminded me of the time that Jennifer came to speak at our Dear Jane retreat up in Shipshewana, Indiana, so I thought I would share a few photos with you.

In December 2005, Jennifer's book, The Christmas Quilt had just been released.   A lot of us had read it as well as her other books.  She told us what it was like to be an author of not only her fictional works but also her quilt pattern books and to design fabric lines for Red Rooster.

After she spoke for awhile, she finished the evening reading to us aloud from The Christmas Quilt.  You could have heard a pin drop.

It was a perfect evening complete with a light dusting of snow on the ground.

This is the Bergstrom Christmas quilt.

The Delectable Mountains quilt is referred to in The Sugar Camp Quilt.

And, it was a thrill to see Sylvia's Bridal Sampler.

At the end of the evening, Jennifer autographed our books and posed for pictures with each of us.   She answered questions until there were none. She was most gracious, and I'm so glad to have been part of that evening.

Notice her jacket is made from her fabrics.

Oh, how exciting. I love her books and haven't missed one yet. I'll be sure to find some time to read the new one as soon as possible. I wonder if double wedding ring is the quilt for this one? I've always wanted to make one.

I love Jennifer Chiaverini's books and will now keep a look out for this. I have just finished a large wedding themed quilt and will be interested to see what features in her book. It must have been wonderful to spend an evening with her. Take care.

Thanks for sharing this experience, LuAnn. A blogger friend from Washington State sent me one of those cards. She is a big fan and is coming to Utah to get her copy autographed. We are going to try and meet up, so I may be meeting Jennifer later this month. I have only read one of her books so far--just learned of her this summer.

I'm another one of her fans and have collected all of her books and have this one on order from amazon already, waiting on its arrival. I met her at a book signing at Paducah quilt show a few years ago but haven't an opportunity to hear her speak which would be marvelous. :)

Wow! That sounds like a great meeting! Thanks for the reminder that her new book is out.. I need to pop to Amazon and download it to my Kindle and order the book for my Mom. I've got her and my sisters hooked on her now. Love all the pictures on your blog... reminds me of 'home' with the fall colors.
