I arrived in Shipshewana this afternoon, and everything is just as wonderful as I remembered. I've seen several friends that I haven't seen in ages. By the time I checked into my room at the Farmstead Inn, I only had a little over a half hour to check out Yoders. This is the first time I've been there since they expanded their fabric department. Many of the buildings in town are all decorated for Christmas both outside........
and inside.......
and inside.......
Here are some photos of the fabric department. There is a lot to see, and I know I missed a lot this first time there, but this will give you an idea of what the expanded fabric department looks like. We can walk to Yoders from the sewing room at the Farmstead, so most days we are there and at Lollys so there will be more chances to take photos.
Yoder's yarn department has grown since my last visit. I love this knit scarf. The yarn to make this is available in lots of different colors. I might have to make one of these.
These quilts are hanging in the entryway of Yoders. The baskets on this one are pieced with cotton, and the applique' is wool.
I finished the evening with dinner at the Blue Gate with a good friend. And, of course there was pie. I had raspberry cream tonight. Sorry, I forgot to take a photo. I might just have to have another piece so you can see what it looks like.
This is the tree at the Blue Gate Restaurant.
More tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit!
Having a great time. Wish I was there?

ReplyDeleteWonderful pics, LuAnn! Yoder's looks so different after the makeover -- the fabric dept is so huge now! You will have fun in there, yes?!
ReplyDeleteYummo... I am drooling just thinking of the pie! Too bad we don't have "smell & taste-email". Maybe in the future?! lol

WOW! What a great store. I have always wanted to go to Shipshewana and just never have. My son and his family lived in Michigan for six years and they went down there alot. From the pictures they sent to me along with the descriptions of the town, I knew it was a place I wanted to visit. My DH said we are going on a vacation next year so this might be my suggestion for him. I'm really enjoying your pics. It looks like you're having a great time. Have fun and I'll be anxiously waiting on all your other pictures.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm having a great giveaway and I know you will like it, come check by blog and enter, you won't be sorry!
