Shopping and Sewing on the Bus

There is always something happening on a bus trip with quilters.  We have an ugly fabric exchange, fabric lotto, and mileage lotto.  There are always magazines being passed around to look at, and there is usually a movie going.  So there is never a lack of anything to do.  I took some of my six pointed stars along and finished sewing these five on the bus trip.  I also did a simple applique' block that I'll show you with the rest of the blocks for that quilt.

Here are my vendor purchases.  The four solids on the left are going into a project that I'm working on along with Michelle from English Paper Piecing Addiction group.  The reds and cheddars are for another quilt.  The fat quarter of hexagon shaped fabric is for 3/4" hexagons for another project.  One booth had some remnants bundled, and I wanted to see what the floral looked like unrolled.  The only way was to bring it home.  It is 9" X width of fabric.  Not sure what I'll do with it.

It was a tiring day.  After finding a comfortable chair to rest for awhile, I decided that I probably needed a pack of Cherrywood fabrics to take home with me.  I'd scoped out their booth and liked both of these bundles.  I couldn't decide which to buy, and after all time was running out.  So I just bought both of them.

I hope you are finding some time to stitch today.

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I love cheddars - they add sparkle to any quilt! As for your cherrywood fabrics I think you had the right idea - can't decide which bundle to get? Buy both! A quilt maker after my own heart!

  3. The six pointed stars are absolutely beautiful. Your fussy cutting and piecing are so precise, and to think you sewed them in a bus!

  4. More lovely stars! I can't believe you were able to focus well enough to do those with all that was going on around you! : )
Nice shopping finds--especially the cheddars and the Cherrywoods.

  7. I can’t believe how you keep making these paper pieced stars. I was barley able to get finished making the ones I needed for the Di Ford mystery and I hope I never have to make another one.
    Yours are so pretty.
    Love all your purchases.

  8. Love your fabrics. The cheddar is luscious. I collect old quilts and am learning much more about the fabrics at Barbara's blog each week.
I also think your quilt slide show is really nice.
