I'm fortunate that I am able to sew in the car (while my husband drives). I know a lot of people are bothered by the motion, but I spent some time looking at the pretty scenery and some time working at adding the six set in pieces to my six pointed stars.
Here are 3 of my favorites from this last dozen that I've finished. It seems to be taking longer to fill in the diamonds surrounding the stars than it did to do the stars themselves. It won't be long until I can put all of these together into a top. When I get back home, I'll have to see how many I've finished so far.
Here is the view from my deck this morning. I'm looking at the Smoky Mountains while I have my coffee and do a bit of stitching.
I hope you are finding some time to stitch today, too.
Thanks for visiting!
love those star-ish blocks! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm happy you showed your stars LuAnn. This morning my friend came to sew and brought her stars. We have both done quite a few, but were still dithering about how to join them. I think we settled on adding the diamonds round the edge to make them into hexys. Now I have seen yours, it has decided me.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you clarified "while my husband drives" so we wouldn't all worry about you going off the road! LOL. I love those stars and you are indeed fortunate to be able to piece in the car. I can on the highway, but not in the truck on backroads!
ReplyDeleteso pretty! I like to car sew too :)
ReplyDeleteYou have such a knack for choosing fabrics and fussy-cutting them to make the most incredible stars. They each look like some intricate, delicate snowflake. Beautiful work, as always!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see your stars I think "that is next". I can do EPP in the car also, may be the card stock papers help hold it steady with the motion. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love your blocks LuAnn! YOur fussy cutting and choices are beautiful!! What a lovely view!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE your stars!! I can get carsick, so I baste when we're on the road, and then piece together here at the beach. Basting is fairly mindless, so I don't have to concentrate and can look out often enough to avoid getting carsick.
ReplyDeletewished I could sew in the car....maybe I need to try again........
ReplyDeletelove the fussy cuts...........
Your stars we turning out so pretty and the fussy cutting is creating some fantastic designs.
ReplyDeleteYour stars are beautiful!!!

ReplyDeleteLove your stars! I used to crochet in the car, but only things I didn't have to really think about it. LOL

ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog Luann, lovely to see all the beautiful projects you're working on & your fussy cut stars are great surrounded by colour! I see in your header you have some gorgeous Lucy Boston patchwork of the crosses blocks, this is another EPP on my to do list after I've finished playing with La Passacaglia (of course there will be a lot of fussy cutting involved!) LOL
