Hi Everyone I've been away for awhile. Part of the time was spent catching up on sewing projects and some knitting. We were on vacation for over a week, and toward the end we both got sick. I haven't had any kind of cold, upper respiratory thing for about 2 years, and it's taken me awhile to snap back and feel human again.
In my last post, I showed you the Smitten block kits that I've cut. Here are 2 that I sewed while on vacation. It's too dark now, but I'll take photos and show you my progress soon. The Smitten pattern is by Jen Kingwell.

I'm still sewing 2" six pointed stars. I really love fussy cutting and sewing these blocks. The pink/rose star fabric in the block below is a fabric by Sue Daley.
The red fabric in this star is a Sue Daley fabric. The other two are from my stash.
I love spending time in the Smoky Mountains, and I never tire of this view.
Here is a photo from the same place. You can see the clouds rolling in and the tops of the mountains are barely visible.
I spent a lot of time under this striped umbrella during vacation. It is in front of the Marble Slab Creamery. Yes, that ice cream was purely for medicinal purposes to heal my sore throat. That's Starbucks across the way. That Pumpkin Spice Latte was for the congestion. That's my story!
I'll try not to stay away so long next time. I've done a lot of stitching, and I'll take photos and show you soon. I hope you've been stitching, too.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit!
You always do the most amazing thing with your fussy-cutting.
ReplyDeleteOh, it is a good thing you were so close to those medicinal resources!! *LOL*
Hope you're on the mend now LuAnn, have missed your posts. Looking forward to seeing what you have been working on- your work is always so pretty.
ReplyDeletePrachtige sterren en goed dat je weer terug bent. Groetjes Wilma
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better! It's not usually good to self medicate, but I think you're doing it just right!!
ReplyDeleteI love your fussy cut Stars!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you were sick on vacation.
I hope you can shake that cold quickly!
That's your story and you are sticking to it..(funny)...loved the mountains and your little stars.
ReplyDeleteI have been wondering if you were lost in "Blogger Cyberspace" LOL.
ReplyDeleteI was gone for awhile too but back on track. Just hoping to get things going now that we are settled in.
Sorry that you got sick - that is a bummer!
LuAnn your stars are beautiful. Love your fussy cutting, just beautiful. I love the Smokey Mountains too. Have only been there once but sure hope to make it again. Sounds like your remedies are just perfect!
ReplyDeleteSo good to know you had a nice trip and found just the right pharmacies to get the much needed medicine for your sore throat and congestion. Your blocks are so pretty. Will you be joining these blocks together or appliqueing to a background? The reason I ask, is because I have trouble with the point tags when I applique them down...makes for a very bulky point that is sometimes off center. Have you had this problem?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stars !
ReplyDeleteJ'adore !
I'm sorry to hear you were sick and hope that you are on the mend. I know what you mean about how the older one gets the longer it seems to take to bounce back. I love your fussy cut stars. They are all so pretty!
ReplyDeleteFussy cutting makes the most interesting star and hexagon designs. Worth the effort.
ReplyDeleteI like your cold remedy. Glad you are back and feeling better.
