Easy Street Top Finish

Here is my latest finished top.  This is Easy Street, the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt that finished in January 2013.  This is top # 3 finished for the year.

I had finished part of the blocks before this was packed up and taken to storage as a UFO before we moved.  I realized that I had all of the parts pieced to finish the alternate blocks, so I've been working on getting this top pieced together.

The photo on my monitor looks like part of the blocks are yellow, but they are all different lime fabrics.   Most of them are batiks.  I had fun at Back Door Quilts choosing the inner and outer border fabrics with the girls.  Except for the border, the rest of the quilt was made from my stash.

I love Bonnie Hunter's quilts, but they are too large for me to even attempt the quilting.  I'll send both this quilt and Alletaire to a long arm quilter soon.  So, I have another UFO crossed off my list.  And, it's a pretty long list.    I am trying not to start any new projects or buy any fabric unless I know it's going into a project I have started.  More to come on that..............

I hope you are finding some time to stitch today.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

  3. So pretty! Makes me want to get mine out and make progress on it, but it isn't as pretty as yours. Love the batiks!
I'll be cheering you on in the "no starting, no buying just for stash" department". Wish I was that strong. Feel like I am doing well just to not start SALs. : )

  5. Love the colors - such a striking quilt! I am with you on doing UFO's and no new fabrics. Although I did order some of the 108" fabrics from Hancock's that was on sale - So much easier to quilt with the 108" rather than piecing the backs. LAZY in my old age. LOL. Keep up the good work!
