Sights Around Shipshewana

Shipshewana, Indiana, is a destination for a lot of people traveling through the midwest part of the United States.  It is in the middle of Amish country and is like taking a step back in time.  The pace there seems slower than in the city, and it just a wonderful place to visit.

This is the Lang Store.  This photo shows a small part of the quilts that are for sale.  There are also a lot of gift items in the store.  They also have beautiful Christmas cards and note cards.

This is a small sitting area in the back of the Pumpkin Vine, a little soup and sandwich shop where we had lunch.

This is the side of the shop that you see as you leave the Davis Mercantile Building.

The horses wait patiently for their owners to return.

This horse and carriage available for rides is parked at the side of the Blue Gate Restaurant.

The Blue Gate:  homemade chicken and noodles and 34 different types of pie........

The Craft Barn.

Christmas decorations outside the Craft Barn located across the street from the Blue Gate.

Yoders Department Store.

One of the quilts on display at Yoders.

Next post will be some of the quilts from show and tell.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

I hope you are finding some time to stitch today.

You make me want to *live* there! I miss the Midwest, its cultures, and its architecture!
