Cross Stitch Parade

There is a cross stitch parade going on this weekend in blog land, so I am joining in, too.  Thanks to Chookyblue  for putting this together.  It has been so long since I even attempted to do any counted cross stitch.  I have saved a box with a few patterns that I thought maybe I would get to "someday" along with my embroidery floss.  I have several cross stitch Christmas ornament kits that may get done in this lifetime.  Until then here are a few of the ones that I did "back in the day".  I don't remember the name of this one, but I think maybe after I finished this one I threw the pattern leaflet into the fireplace when we had a fire burning!!
A friend and I both had this house pattern book, and so we both started our houses at the same time and each motivated the other to keep going.  This was before I started quilting; I believe the date on the bottom step of the house says 1985.
This one hangs in my laundry room and when the laundry basket seems it will never empty, this cross stitch makes me smile.  Now that I am posting this, I am not sure whether I made this one or if my friend, Sharon, from Michigan made it.  Sharon is a friend from back in grade school, and for many years she and I would cross stitch projects for each other for our birthdays and Christmas.
I did this one ages ago.  I know the 1980s don't seem all that long ago, but it was 30 years ago.
Another small one that hung in my kitchen for years.
This one is enclosed in glass in a breadboard that comes out at Christmas time.  It sits on my countertop for display, but we don't use it.  I know in my cross stitch box there is a leaflet called Williamsburg Christmas that has 3 cross stitched houses decorated for Christmas.  I guess since I can still remember the name there is still hope that I might get it done someday.
Hope you are all finding some time to take a few stitches today.

  5. Love your cross stitch projects. I can understand why you tossed the instructions, looks like that one would have been so hard. It's beautiful though.
