Retreating Tomorrow

Tomorrow I'm heading north to Shipshewana, Indiana, for our fall Dear Jane retreat.  The retreat doesn't officially start until Wednesday afternoon, but I'm going to meet my niece there tomorrow for lunch and some fabric shopping.  She called to tell me that she is just beginning to quilt, so that's exciting.

This is the homemade carmel corn that I usually take for a treat.
This is my "pile of stuff" to take.  I've been working to get it a little bit better organized so I don't have to rent a U-Haul.  I'm taking those boots because it snowed in Minnesota and that is upwind from here right????  And, the box is the round robin I'm returning to Claire, the owner, and I'll get my quilt back, too.  There is enough in that pile that if I worked 8 hours a day on it for the next 2 months, it still wouldn't all be finished.  But, my thinking is that you never know what you will be in the mood to work on so it's best to be prepared.  Do the rest of you pack for a retreat like this?  Vicki and I always laugh and call ourselves Ollie Hopnoodle.  Does anyone remember that movie?  Oh, and my clothes are still upstairs, but I have all the important things right there in that pile.
Hope you are all finding some time to stitch or are packing for the retreat.  Check back, and I'll try and post photos from the retreat while I'm there.  Safe travels to all that are heading for northern Indiana.

  3. Shipshewana is one of my dream places to go!! A bunch of us talk about it every year. I'm thinking ROAD TRIP! LOL I pack EXACTLY like you for retreat!! You never know what tool you'll need (or someone else might need and YOU have it! :-D) -- and sometimes when something isn't working, you just need to lay it down and move on to something else for a while, so multiple projects are a must. Clothing? Throw that in a bag in about 10 minutes; projects take me all week to prepare! :-D Hope you have an excellent, fun, productive weekend!!
    Blessings,
    Mary Lou
