Happy Tuesday! Today is my birthday, and I thought I would share some of my goodies that I have bought and have a giveaway. I found not only one - but two copies of the book, Material Obsession. I love all of the ideas that are in this book including the Dresden Plate with the polka dot center that is on the cover so I'll share a copy. I also found some more Bliss and now have enough to make a project so I'll share a charm pack of that, too.
To be entered in the giveaway, just leave a comment and tell me what you like to do on your birthday. If you are a no reply blogger, leave me an email address where I can reach you. I'll pick a number using a random generator (or my husband) probably sometime on Thursday. I'm heading for Paducah bright and early Friday morning (provided the River stays in her banks), and I hope to post from there.
Hope you have some time to stitch today. Thanks for visiting!

ReplyDeleteI like to celebrate with my family; hubby, kids and their spouses and the grandkids!
Happy Birthday! My hubby's birthday is just a few days after mine, so we usually pick the weekend between and go to dinner nice (which means a trip out of town) and maybe a movie - family time.
ReplyDeletehappy birthday.........I like to do something with family and/or friends.......if it's the weekend sometimes we do a campoven or BBQ.......it's in winter so depends on the day........
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Birthday, LuAnn!!! Hope it's fabulous! Have fun in Paducah!
ReplyDeleteI love to go out to dinner with my family for my birthday AND I always order a dessert. I never get dessert except for my bday. It's usually just a nice quiet evening.
Great giveaway! We should be sending you the gift!! :-)
LuAnn,
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a wonderful day, and enjoy your Margarita's.
Dinner out, and doing what I want to do on my day is the best way to celebrate.
Well Happy Birthday LuAnn! Have fun in Paducah, are you taking a class? For my birthday I like to have special dinners with family.
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY!
ReplyDeleteFor my birthday I like to try to sleep in until at least 8am. With three furbabies and hubby all vying for my attention constantly this year's wish is to sleep until 8am and have some "me" time by getting a little sewing done. This year is the BIG ONE for me (50) so I'm thinking we'll go out to dinner then meet some firefighter friends and party the night away.
Happy Birthday!!!! Hope its great! For my birthday I like to spend it flea marketing and cooking for my family and friends. My email address is horselove57@aol.com
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, hope you have a nice day. I usually like to have a day off from doing anything domesticated, so I like breakfast in bed, then to be taken out for lunch, by dinner time I'm too full so we have cheese and crackers (hubs is capable of making that lol)
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is on Friday I will be celebrating by having dinner with my family - my favorite thing to do anytime, but especially on my birthday.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! What a treat to go to Paducah..isn't it nice that it and your birthday happen to be around the same time....
ReplyDeleteWould love to be with all my kids and g. kids who are scattered to the winds..what I will probably be doing is relaxing at home or going to eat with DH and/or DS who lives closest..2 1/2 hrs away..
Happy Birthday. I love to quilt all day on my birthday!

Happy Birthday and have a really good time in Paducah. I hope to get there one of these years also.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Lucky girl taking a trip too. For my birthday I like to spend it with friends and family - usually a dinner out. I also use the date as my health check in and schedule important tests etc that week - the date reminds me to take care of myself.
ReplyDeleteHave a great one!
Happy Birthday LuAnn! Have a safe trip! I can't think of anything better than quilting on my birthday.
ReplyDeleteHappiest birthday wishes!!! My birthday was 4-25 .... :) Great time and happy travels!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday LuAnn!
ReplyDeleteI hope your day is filled with lots of little reminders of just how special & loved you are! :)
My happiest birthdays are always the ones I am able to spend with my family.
Happy Birthday LuAnn! Enjoy your trip to Paducah. I have a copy of that wonderful book, so please do not include me in the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I just found your blog and added it to my favorites. Any day spent quilting is a very wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteA special question. On your earlier posting about the Red/White NYC quilt show--the stunning Vortex quilt: It would be a thrill to make that quilt. You mentioned your friend Claire made one. Does she have a pattern? That has to be one of my favorite quilts of all time. Thanks for sharing the history.
Every year on my birthday, I am in a fabric store or a quilt shop! Hubby cheerfully drives me wherever I want to go - sometimes it's a trip (5 or 600 miles), and sometimes it's just a short jaunt (to Dallas and back). Either way, I am a happy woman. (And grateful, too!)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I like to be surprised on my birthday and not have to plan it myself - still working on making that happen. Thanks for the opportunity, Terri in BC
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday - I love to enjoy mine with my favorite dinner! Just found your blog and enjoyed seeing your work and your retreat posts; I live in Indy too and went to a retreat at the same location last fall and made most of the same stops as you!
ReplyDeleteWow! You're going to Paducah?? Take an inflatable life boat!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday was going to lunch and a couple of quilt shops with my girlfriends, then spending the evening with my husband and daughter and looking through my old baby pictures after dinner. Priceless!
Have a safe trip!
In stitches,
Teresa :o)

I like to have lunch in a cemetery. It's that genealogy thing, you know!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, my friend!

ReplyDeleteHow do I celebrate my birthday? Well, I am a bit sad I am afraid as I invariably have to work, but then I get fish n'chips on the way home and sit in front of the telly eating it with my fingers!!
Well at least I haven't had to cook and there's no washing up to do. Mind you it drives Hamish the cat mad!!
Have a great time in Paducah.
Fiona
Vicki - you have had me laughing and laughing, it's a good thing I know you, I can see that twinkle in the eye as you wrote that!
Happy Birthday, LuAnn! I woud love to celebrate my birthday with my cohab, having an nice dinner that he made while I'm quilting :o))
ReplyDeleteTake care. Hugs
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! My husband's birthday is on the 2nd of the month, and mine is on the 4th of the same month, so we decided to get married on the day between our birthdays! Now, every year, we take the whole week off work and get out of town together to celebrate it all! We usually go to our family cabin in the woods, or some other secluded place and just get down to basics and focus on what's important. :) I hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration!!

What a nice reason to have a giveaway! Happy, happy birthday. I was supposed to leave for Paducah today, but the high water flooded out my friend's home in Evansville where I was going to stay. Oh, well! Maybe next year. Have great time for the rest of us and take some pictures!
ReplyDeleteHappy! Happy Birthday!!! I like to go the several different quilt shops and go out to lunch with my best of friends on my birthday! I was born on the 8th of November and my friend was born on the 9th! I was leaving the hospital and she was coming in!!! Hope your special day was a great one!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday LuAnn!! We are so close in birthdays, we need to celebrate one year together!
ReplyDeleteHope your trip to KY is a safe one.
Hope you have a great birthday. I like to celebrate with "me" time in my studio.
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is in November, so it's usually dull and gray out. But I love going to dinner with my hubby or lunch with friends. I love opening gifts and I hope they are quilting ideas! My kids and sisters and mom call that day.
ReplyDeleteOn my birthday, I try to go to a Korean restaurant. My mother was from South Korea and she had died when I was a young girl. It is a birthday present to myself, where I can sit and eat quietly, and reflect on where I have come from.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday dear LuAnn!
ReplyDeleteMy birthday is in August, and last year we were on our holiday trip to Denmark. It was a sunny day and we were on the beach and climbed a lighthouse with a beautiful view. Later we had some delicious chinese food and watched the sunset - it was a perfect day! Hope your day is wonderful, too! :-)
Happy belated birthday! I love to just spend time with my family - nothing fancy:) Have a good time at Paducha!
ReplyDeleteKris
Belated Birthday Wishes :)
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to relax around the house with some coffee and chocolates and enjoy a visit from my children. If I'm lucky someone will even cook dinner.
