Here is another way to make the Heart Table Mat that you saw in my last post. I know a lot of you aren't convinced that you want to try making string blocks, and others of you just don't really like them. So here is an alternative to make the Heart Table Mat without making a single string block.
Cut 6 red squares 3 1/2"
Cut 2 background squares 3 1/2"
Make 28 half square triangles that measure 3 1/2" (finish at 3 inches)
Your table mat (or wall hanging) will finish at 18 inches.
It's a wonderful placemat oder wallhangig for valentine's day. Thank you so much for the diagram.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend and take care

Thank you for posting another Valentine tutorial. I like to make string blocks, but I also love this version. It's nice of you to offer something for everyone.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very pretty heart!
ReplyDeleteSaving it for future reference.

This is cute, too, but I LOVE making strings--I like the big variety of colorways you can achieve--the blend of tones etc....Thank you for both methods...Julierose
ReplyDeleteI love the heart quilts. I want to at some point make a giant heart lap blanket.

Both versions of your heart quilt are really cute. I am a sucker for hearts,so I'll put this in my to do pile for one of these days in the future.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear a bout your sewing machine. What a crazy thing to happen! Hope it doesn't have to stay at the shop too long.
Did you get all your scarves knitted for the Super Bowl? With this mild winter, they might not need them. Sorry our Packers won't be there.
Thanks, LuAnn. This version is more my speed!
ReplyDeleteAdorable!

ReplyDeleteBoth are adorable, LuAnn. The Block Lotto exchange is any style heart this month, so I keep thinking on what I could do....
