Spring and a Hexagon

It's probably a little too early in the growing season here in the Midwest, but I bought a few annuals and planted the pot on my front porch.  The low temperatures are supposed to be close to freezing a few nights next week, but hopefully I can cover them and keep them going.

These flowers are called Ranunculus, and this is the first time I've grown these.  I think the blooms look a lot like roses.

I don't have much to show in the way of sewing, but here is a hexagon that I just finished.  These are 3/4".  I'm not sure where it will end up, but I like the pink and brown combination.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

I hope you are finding some time to stitch today!

  6. I have also put some flowers in pots. I guess the growing season is a little bit earlier here in Texas. I just can't wait to plant things at the end of winter. The seasons are just long enough. Pretty hexies.

Think Spring jumped around us - snow showers called for in the days ahead. - hope Spring remembers to drop by again soon.

  8. Going to get close to freezing here, too, so I will wait until after next week to get some flowers potted.

  9. I can't ever remember to water, let alone cover a pot on my porch, so I gave up on having one years ago, but I think they are so lovely. I have never grown ranunculus, but it is a beautiful flower.
That is a sweet hexie with the bird in the center. Pink & brown are a great combo--working with it myself right now. : )
