Retreating in Shipshewana

I arrived in Shipshewana, Indiana, on Tuesday for our semi annual quilt retreat at the Farmstead Inn. I've done some shopping, eating, and talking. I took a few photos today when I walked over to Yoders Department Store. Some photos are blurry, but you can see all of the fabric temptation.

There are so many solid colors here that it's hard to choose. This beautiful table makes me smile each time I see it.

There are lots of jello rolls, charm packs, layer cakes, and other precuts.
Fabric.....

This quilt kit can be yours. I love all of those half square triangles. I'd probably change the center

More solids...

And even more

It really is a bit overwhelming.

I think I bought the pattern for this quilt several years ago.

This photo is blurry, but I love these hexagons. This quilt is set like my Road 66 quilt with the tiny diamond path.

They have a ruler for everything.
A cart of pillows for sale
I've spent some happy hours in this gazebo with friends.
The horse and buggies are everywhere.
It's fun to walk around Shipshewana because you see things like this. It made me laugh.  My first thought was .....there's free manure everywhere.

Hope you are finding some time to stitch today.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.

  2. I'm going to be in IN next week, and the one place I wanted to stop was Yoder's. But, alas, the schedule of meetings doesn't put me near there during their hours of operation. Maybe next time. Glad you are having fun...and I get to see what I'm missing. Lane

  8. I wonder how many triangles are in the quilt with the house in the middle. I am guessing about a million.

  10. My hubby and I want to visit Shipshewana this summer ... we're hoping to go when the quilting garden is in bloom. Yoder's is definitely on my list ... based on what you've shared, I'll have to tell hubby to grab a second book to read while I'm shopping. ha!
